Wow As the world turns had a lot of actors and actresses who went on to be great. So far I have seen Marissa tomei meg Ryan and lots I go "Hmm who is that?"
Also love watching the old commercials, news breaks and upcoming shows during the episodes.

(35,364 posts)the doctors go through way to far. If I worked at that hospital I would get out while I had the chance.
Before it is over I think everyone will end up in an all inclusive doctors orgy. Everyone
on the set has had sex with everyone else at one time or the other I think.

(5,914 posts)Real life has become far more absurd and shocking than what a mere TV drama can produce.
I wish they had gone with introducing a Trump-like character to challenge Frank Underwood. You would find yourself rooting for Frank.
I imagine that Trump-like character being played by Gary Busey. He would be perfect.

(34,119 posts)old As The World Turns? My mother raised us with that on the old black and white TV every afternoon then my grandmother would call her and they would talk about "the story" as my grandmother referred to it. I would watch it off and on until I was out of college and had a VCR then I would work and come home and watch it. I got hooked and watched until the last few years when I had a major upsetting of my life so I missed the last 2 years of it and sometimes wonder how it all came out.
If you look on IMDB you can see that there were a lot of famous people who started in that show. Julianne Moore played twins. So many started their careers on the soaps, lots of Broadway people do them now and then too but that is a huge commitment when you are already doing 8 shows a week.
Anyway, if you would tell me where I could find ATWT I would be forever grateful. I have some wonderful (and some horrible) life memories wrapped up in that show. I remember being a little kid when we had only one window air conditioner and we would take our naps while the 30 minute story ran on the TV in that room. My mom could relax for 30 minutes and we laid quietly and comfortably on the floor. Old Bob Hughes and Lisa (whatever last name was the original for that character) before they were married. 1950's. My life was wrapped in "the story".

(34,119 posts)I am assuming you mean John Dixon? I think that was his last name. He mellows out from time to time. Odd character. You can see him in a few movies as well. He was in one of the Die Hard movies, I think the first. He is one of those you love him then hate him.
I actually hate that I know that. It is good escapism, just what the old housewives needed in the middle of their boring ass days.
Keep this up and we may need a special group. 🤤

I then explain to her how her grandmother enjoyed them as a break in her day. Now she asks questions about her family she didn't get to know

Also Jason Biggs.
LOL, fun to look back. There are a lot of names there in that very long list. Some were kids of stars who either went on to do things or not.
