Young America's Foundation

Anyone heard of these asshats? Their ad appears on DU. It looks like a propaganda site when you go to it. Ted Cruz is mentioned as is Scott Walker who, it seems, started it. It also mentions Hillsdale College which is so RW as to merely be missing Brownshirt uniforms.

was the Young Americans for Freedom, the campus-based more radical and more libertarian offshoot of the Young Republicans. We generally viewed them as the right wing Hippies, which is a pretty confused concept. I think they are the ancestor of this group.

I’ve often heard Libertarians defined as Republicans who like to smoke pot.

On edit: I spent some time reading the site, and I’m pretty sure it is a rebranding if the same group. One girl I knew in college was a hippie when it came to sex, drugs and rock and roll, but was a complete racial bigot and had no sympathy for the poor. She went so far as to support forced sterilization for people who did not meet her intellectual and financial thresholds. I pointed out to her that the Nazis also enjoyed kinky sex and drugs.

The ads that show up on DU blare out “The Long Game”. The Young America’s Foundation is in small print. When I went to their website they mentioned Scott Walker as being a founder of the group if I read it correctly.

They appear to be heavily “capitalism good, everything else bad” as well as whining about conservative speech being quashed.

I just have a bad feeling because unless the left actually develops long term strategy we will suffer the consequences of failure to plan.

They are they same type of morally decadent people who manage to infuse their philosophy with Ayn Rand’s twisted “Selfishness is Virtue” bullshit.

It still applies that when I see groups like this I become paranoid. And like the old joke says: just because I am paranoid that doesn’t mean they’re not out to get me.

Vigilance against these asshats including planning and executing strategies is required.

I used to get T***p campaign ads here! Here, of all places! I became a star member and just like magic, the ads stopped. I think you can do it for as little as $10 and it's good for a year.

Welcome, by the way!
