My buddy that cleans out houses just brought over a really nice

5 gallon crock with a cobalt blue flower on it, no cracks and a few very small chips. Problem is it looks as if it was in a house fire. Started out almost black. Been soaking in vinegar and hot water. A lot better but still looks stained.

Any suggestions?

Looks like about $80 as is, but could go up to over $300 in great shape. Been scrubbing with a brush and fine steel wool and kind of hit a wall with not much improvement yet.

it seemed to be taking off some of the mark. So, I'm going to back off on the soaking and try to just do areas around the mark. Might try some Bar Keeper or baking soda and scrub around it. Glad I didn't try the acid.

They take off just about anything and don't leave scratches.
