I've bought very heavy things at yard sales, the last few years have been concrete statuary. Some pushing 1000lbs. I once bought a 19th century cast iron planter with bright colored enamel decoration and two lion heads on the sides, French made 600lbs.
At times I feel I'm getting to old to be moving heavy things and then something unusual comes up.

Love architectural items and always find a way to move them. Last month I bought a large, heavy, four way stop light cheap. Didn’t think it would fit in my little car. The guy offered to put it in his truck and take it down the street to my house. The last one like it SOLD on EBay for $1,100. I paid $150. I love what I do in my retirement years and make a few bucks.

full time and getting my degree. Get to focus on it now. Every Friday I drive many miles, over 400 today. Average at least 200 miles on Fridays in the warm months. End up with lots of winter project on the items found.

I had a chance to buy an old, lovely concrete statue yesterday but I couldn't even "rock" it in place; must have been in the 100 lb range. I would have loved to have it (a steal at $20) but no possibility I could have handled it. Getting old with a bad back is frustrating.
