Related: About this forumJust finished my second palette knife painting. I'm really liking using a knife to paint.
Used a brush for the little barn and fence though.

(10,093 posts)If it is the white patch on Boise Peak, to the right, gives it away. If not, oh well.
Edit: never mind, I just saw your title,"Missoula"

(53,410 posts)I totally love it! I enlarged it to fill my iPad screen and just let myself experience it.
Painting like this, with a pallet knife adds a whole new dimension to art. The viewer gets the added quality of being conscious of the method used and how it works in the painting as well as being aware of it. Now we can see a physical effect of three dimensionality added to the depiction of a landscape and a house and color and texture.
Youre going to get very good at this because maybe you found your outlet where you become more powerful in your depictions. This is sometimes how artists explore abstract painting. The medium itself and how it is applied becomes the central issue. Think Abstract Expressionism.
This is awesome in fact and in potential!
