Watched this last night again.
Mitchum is one of the best. Highly underated.
and also watched the great John Garfield in the movie afterward.
Died way too young and he was blacklisted

(16,987 posts)...because Garfield's part was different from others I'd seen him do. I admit I didn't "get" him when I first watched Four Daughters on late-night Canadian TV years back. Then TCM ran that documentary on his life and I think the man deserves his own postage stamp (Are you listening, USPS?). He was electrifying, and he paved the way for so many other actors.

(11,464 posts)And Garfield died so young.Garfield and Mitchum would be in it.
The Oscars are for one thing(especially these days).
And the tributes most don't remember those.
But an actual real Hall of Fame with official plaques and momentos with different wings
(unlike the Oscars where comedians never win) and with multiple entries a year (perhaps 20-30) covering actors, actress, comedy, character, director, producers.
