John Mayer - Walt Grace's Submarine Test, January 1967 (don't care what u say, this is a great song)

There's just something about it ... that really hits home for me ... I LIKE a lot of Mayer's songs, especially those on Continuum and this album (Born and Raised), but this is the one song of his that I legitimately love ... think it's the best song he ever did.

Probably NOBODY here has heard it ... give it a shot ...

In particular, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, In Repair, and Gravity ... really speak to me.

But Born and Raised (containing this Walt Grace song) is also REALLY good. Very 1970's Laurel Canyon vibe. Wasn't heavily promoted as John developed throat issues right after recording it, I believe had throat surgery, and never actually toured the record, which the record company knew before releasing it, I think this led to them not pushing it like they would have if there's gonna be a tour.

There's really not a bad song on that disc either, though it's not nearly as impressive as Continuum, it's a very, very listenable effort, literally sounds like a long lost early 1970's album from some classic band. The title track is my next favorite after Walt Grace ... I think it has like CSN (or someone like that) doing backing vocals ...
