Jerry was a very good keyboardist. Could really play and knew tones.
The rejection of this classic was what this later song was about.

I was a 70's hippie type, with Farah Fawcett hair (feathered) well maybe David Cassidy, wore patchouli and smoking that herbage.

Bowie, Mott, Sweet, Slade, etc. Plus the prog rock bands.
Platforms, baggies, longish curly hair, the skinny shirts.

Platforms, elephant bells that were hip huggers, chokers etc. Bowie, Mott and Sweet for sure.
