I think Eat a Peach is one of those albums that in its entirety, is just flat out complete.

I got to see them in Las Vegas in the late 80's at the Sam Boyd stadium, what a kick ass concert.

I'm not a huge fan of the southern genre (although there's a lot of good music in it!), but Molly rocked with the best of 'em. May they RIP.

Warren Hayes was the lead guitarist for Allman Brothers for the last 20+ years. Govt Mule is his band.

Derek Trucks stood next to him for 19 years. And his wife Susan Tedeschi has two Grammys.

Widespread has been selling out shows for over 30 years. They are from Athens. John Bell's voice is a musical instrument.

...is that their 3 biggest hits were written completely or in part by guys from Illinois.
And, not southern Illinois. One of them is from Oak Lawn & spent a lot of his life in Frankfort, the other was from near Brookfield Zoo. I know both of them. Peterik & Sullivan.
The band was southern, but their biggest song were from Chicago.

The Black Crowes, Drive-By Truckers, and Allman-Betts Band (sons of the original Allman Brothers members). I’d also add a couple of honorable mentions for bands that have the sound but aren’t from the south.
