I have a vintage booth. I had a box of old sheet music in my basement, so I thought I'd put some of the music in my booth. I have a 1928 copy of a song called Mother Mine, adapted from Dvorak's New World Symphony by Maurice Arnold. I wanted to listen to it, to see if the melody sounded familiar. My grandkids were playing classical music in their school concert and I learned that the melody for How Gentle is the Rain is from Bach's Minuet in G. I can't find a recording of Mother Mine online, but I found information about Maurice Arnold, and his work. The song Mother Mine and Mr. Arnold were important at the time.
The sheet music has a stamp on it that says:
Property of Willard Storage Battery Co
Station WTAM
Cleveland, Ohio
Reference Copy
There is a fainter stamp that says:
(property of) WTAM and WEAR
1100 Chester Ave. Cleveland, Ohio
Now that I can't find a recording of the song, I wonder if anyone else can? Thank you!
UPDATE: I found a web site that offers free musical scores. I scanned the sheet music Mother Mine and sent it to the site. I haven't had any luck finding a value for this sheet music, so I will hang on to the original for awhile longer. If anyone is interested in looking for sheet music, here is a link to the song I donated on the site. There are navigation buttons if you want to look : https://www.free-scores.com/sheetmusic?p=abWqmBVt2D
