2. The video makes it appear that they are singing it together.

At first I thought that perhaps Freddie sang it in England while at the same time Bowie sang it live in Phila during Live Aid. The editors did a good job on the video.

"Although very much a joint project, only Queen incorporated the song into their live shows at the time. Bowie chose not to perform the song before an audience until the 1992 , when he and sang it as a duet (backed by the surviving Queen members)."

3. Yes, the video was edited to make it look like they are appearing together, but they're not.

Although the song was written by all of Queen plus Bowie, so it was a group effort, to say the least!
