It came out right around the time I had access to a synthesizer for the first time, so I was fascinated by this record.
Used to go teach piano on Saturday mornings and spend any and all downtime trying to figure out how those sounds were created.
Pretty darned important album & song for me.

A PAIA, then a Korg MS-20, then a Korg Polysix, then an Oberheim OB-8.
Then I went digital & rackmount (MIDI) and even though I learned all the programming, including FM synthesis, I wasn't the same as just twisting a knob or moving a cable on a patch bay.
And yet, I sure wouldn't have wanted to record Auotbahn with tech they had then. Too much work!
