Station To Station was a very strong album. The only downside is that it's quite short.

This this song that I've had in my head since yesterday, and another one I shall not name to be quite ear wormy. Could be he wanted to cut the album short and get away. There possibly could be a more plausible explanation

So, while there are only 6 songs on the record, it's still well over a half-hour.
Longer than an EP, shorter than most LPs.
As to "getting away", you may be right. This record was recorded at the height of David's coke issues.
