2. My Dad Loved Krupa

Had a big thing in common with Gene.
Both born in Chicago.
They were both groomed for the priesthood as young boys by their families.
They both abandoned that plan after the first year of seminary college.
My dad actually went to a seminary high school too. Gene just went of a Chicago public high school.
But, both were headed to priestville but both got off that train.

Alas, 8 years of Jesuit education made me a committed agnostic. Oh well. I've spent a productive lifetime listening to the Gospel of Jerry Garcia and friends. Jesus would have been a Deadhead, I think.

Gene Krupa influenced all of the drummers that I grew up listening to. Bonham, Kreutzman, Watts.

You really ought to hear the whole album. Krupa's last recording...pretty sure Eddie Condon and Wild Bill's last rodeo as well.
