You can’t think about musicians from Minnesota without immediately going to Prince. The American icon was born and raised in Minneapolis, and he lived in the Twin Cities for his entire life. He made us locals especially proud when he famously proclaimed on Oprah, “I will always live in Minneapolis. It’s so cold, it keeps the bad people out.”
Before Prince was topping the charts, winning Academy Awards, and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he attended Central High School in Minneapolis and was trained in classical ballet at the Minnesota Dance Theatre.
