1. An Underappreciated Album

I think it's one of David's 3 or 4 best albums.
I think I'd put Scary Monsters, Let's Dance, & Aladdin Sane ahead of it. And I might put it ahead of Aladdin, because of how consistently interesting it is. It would probably be #2 for me except it's so short. As I recall it's only around 36 minutes of music

I'd put Pinups ahead of it in the fun to listen to category, but it's not the quality work Station To Station was.
As good as Golden Years is, it is at best, the 3rd best song on the record.
