Been a fan of this song from the first time I heard it.
I'm going to an open mic night near my house & I had already decided this is one of the songs I would do.
Obviously, I have to skip that massive solo section in the middle. I do a couple things to evoke that Spanish guitar part, but there's nothing I can do with the electric guitar & sax solos. So, my version is shorter.
I just love the picture he paints with those lyrics.

"She comes out of the sun in a silk dress
Running like a watercolor in the rain"

Beautiful imagery there. I wish I could come hear you play, but I think we're pretty far apart. Hope you have a great time while you're doing it.

Same 8 or 9 people (plus the host trio) with a handful of others that show up from time to time. Some guys drive 25 or 30 miles to get to it.
The one in February had a surprise.
I did "Still You Turn Me On" & the guy 2 after me did "Lucky Man".
Small town open mic & 2 guys did ELP songs!
The other 2 songs I'm doing are "Don't Dream It's Over" (Crowded House) & Undun (Guess Who)
Others do 4 or 5 songs, but I never do more than 3. I've done around 2,100 paid gigs in my life, so I try not to make too much of this. I'm there to hang out with fellow guitar players.
