Local eatery/bar/dance place and it was pretty inexpensive to go see them. Robin was fun to watch too, he was so good looking.

3. Ah, The Thirsty Whale days.

They were already headlining larger venues by the time I could get in there. I didn't get out much, but I did get to see them live a couple of times, when they were touring back in the day.

5. Played There Several Times

Haymakers & The Nickel Bag, too.
A bit more north, we played Rocket North in Wisconsin & a couple big joints in Rockford & DeKalb County too.
Probably a total of a couple hundred gigs.
Loved the whale and haymakers.

4. One of those songs that a lead singer

needs to be careful not to do too many times on back to back to back nights. It's tough on the voice. Robin Zander does so great with this song.

…example of the lyric from that Tom Petty song, “their A&R man said ‘I don’t hear a single’”. The suits at the label weren’t too happy about what they were hearing, and started insisting on outside songwriters.
