Saw Jackie Venson Friday night. She is now on the list
The list of artists that I will see every time they come to town.
I got the same feeling that I got when I saw Roy Buchanan, SRV, Danielle Nicole, Derek Trucks or Wilco Johnson.
The feeling that I've heard plenty of others doing this type of music, but no one that did it like THAT.
Sometimes she harmonizes her guitar and her voice for melodic phrases or she will play counter to the vocal parts - syncopating on the fly.
It's hard to explain since I don't have a real musical education, but I was riveted.
