A friend of my Son is a music teacher

We are Facebook friends and this afternoon he sent me on an odd trip down the rabbit hole with this video:

He said he shows this to his 5th graders when they claim the recorder isn't a real instrument.

So since I'm me, that link made me spend a good amount of time chasing Classical pieces played on the recorder around the innertubes

Turns out that Vivaldi had quite the recorder fetish, with several pieces for the instrument available

But there was a piece for recorder from some obscure composer I had barely ever heard mentioned as well

The great Burt Bacharach scored the main theme of his "Pacific Coast Highway" for the recorder.

at the top of the steps when I was maybe 9.

This type of music screams for a cold shaker of Beefeater's Gin Martinis or some glasses of Old Overholdt Rye Old Fashioned.

Thanks PJ I really enjoyed that
