I was thinking about the new deal they have where they project the musicians right on stage. I believe they did it with Tupac at Coachella.
Theres another one out with Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly. They have a live band and project the guys up on stage.

I'm sure in the near future holograms will be almost like real instead of the ghostly images we see today, but watching what amounts to a 3d movie while listening to a prerecorded soundtrack seems like several steps below a tribute band. "Hello Cleveland!"
Might as well chug a few O'Doul's beers there to complete the pretend concert experience.
