Remember Hole? Remember how much shit was sprayed at Courtney Love?

Let me tell ya, it bothered me quite a bit then, and it still does.

Well, I'm exiled to the living room and since I have nothing but time and high speed internet - I'm gonna learn yinz something.

Hole was a fantastic band and Courtney was a great song writer who never got the respect she earned.

If you have to separate your preconceptions from these actual songs, maybe play them in a separate tab without watching the videos. Just listen please.

To me that was the hardest part of this argument - No one would listen to her.

They'd see her face, get unreasonably angry and mutter some misguided bullshit about Kurt Cobain.

As if a depressed junky committing suicide is somehow a shocking indictment of the junky's spouse. An event that somehow disqualifies her from a fair shot at success.

So FFS it's a couple decades later now - So just listen

I believe that Courtney took the bullets for a decade's worth of women rockers and that allowed folks like the The Donnas, Garbage, Veruca Salt, and The Breeders to operate without the normal misogyny Rock and Roll puts in women's way.

She was like the Zinc Plate between a ships impeller and it's driveshaft. It's there to get corroded and in so doing protect the other components

She took the damage. It was awful

Well said. She was doing #metoo YEARS before it became a movement. She outed Weinstein back in 2005, for crying out loud. All of the hatred directed at her was bullshit.

I used to work for her back in the mid 2000s. It was my one telecommuting job I ever had. I always wanted a telecommuting job and it was a good job to have for a while to pick up some extra cash. I've spent time talking on the phone to her. She is NOT how people portray her at all. So, fuck her haters. All these years later, I still feel the same about that. They are fucking wrong.

What am I supposed to be hearing? I detect nothing original or exceptional. I'll take Amy Whitehouse among others. And I love women rockers, going back to Fanny. And she's got nothing on the Duchess.

Amy was a great talent as a vocalist. Not arguing that

I liked Fanny as well. In the 70s, I've posted about 'em here before

Thanks for stopping in. Your reply is exactly what I've been hearing since forever
