I had gotten into Willie and Cash and that was as far as my country went...outside the Smokey & The Bandit theme of course. And then a buddy turned me on to The Flying Burrito Brothers which really opened it up for me. Which opened the door to Buck, and Uncle Tupelo, and Conway, and Jerry Reed, etc.

And, The Polack Msgt posts kick ass country here all the time too. So there’s that to helps me along.

Really reminded me of Gram Parsons (probably because I’m so lacking in country ed.)

Putting him in my phone so I can tell Alexa to spin up some numbers when I fits back home.

Sincerely, thanks for the turn on, griffi!

Hit me up the next time ya want to talk about music. I’m a huge Burrito Brothers fan.
I love country-rock and old honky-tonk.
The only current stuff I really listen to is Indie, so I’m not well versed on any country that’s come out in the last 25 years.

At least what they play on the radio anyway. It’s pop music with a twang and it’s all beer, truck, girl, jeans, beer, truck girl, jeans, beertruckgirljeans. It’s the same awful song “artist” after “artist”.

I was working with some twenty somethings 4-5 years ago. And he who drives controls the radio. I wasn’t driving. And these kids where from south of rt. 30 (the Mason-Dixon Line in Indiana). After like 90 minutes, I’m like “dude! How many times are they going to play this fucking song!” They told me it was the first time since he took the wheel. I couldn’t tell the difference.

I was working in St. Louis for months and driving back to NW Indiana every Friday and we found a Classic Country station that was only on like midnight to four. Incredible.
