Watched the documentary "The Wrecking Crew" last night...

For those who want to read about them, the Wrecking Crew were a group of skilled session musicians who played their instruments on 1000s of hit recordings.

The documentary was produced by Denny Tedesco, son of guitarist Tommy Tedesco. I got the Blu-Ray of the movie last Christmas. I really enjoyed the movie.

It’s too bad there wasn’t more actual movie film of the Crew playing in the studio, but there is plenty of photographs and interviews. Some of the Crew have passed, drummer Hal Blaine just recently.

I love these recent music docs about unheralded players like the Wrecking Crew and the Muscle Shoals group.

I had heard about musicians like Glen Campbell starting out as a session player, but until just last year or so I didn’t realize the big picture of the players behind the big records. It’s really historical good stuff.

I found it amazing the Wrecking Crew would come up with riffs and such that many bands had no clue how to play.

I just recently learned Neal Schon was playing for Santana. I was watching Journey in Houston on YouTube and thought that dude was jamming in Santana style... lol on me!

I swear, I truly get choked up when they show the list of songs they were a part of.

Both are really worth watching more than once. And the music is great.
