Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumWatched the documentary "The Wrecking Crew" last night...
For those who want to read about them, the Wrecking Crew were a group of skilled session musicians who played their instruments on 1000s of hit recordings.
The documentary was produced by Denny Tedesco, son of guitarist Tommy Tedesco. I got the Blu-Ray of the movie last Christmas. I really enjoyed the movie.
Its too bad there wasnt more actual movie film of the Crew playing in the studio, but there is plenty of photographs and interviews. Some of the Crew have passed, drummer Hal Blaine just recently.

(7,733 posts)I had heard about musicians like Glen Campbell starting out as a session player, but until just last year or so I didnt realize the big picture of the players behind the big records. Its really historical good stuff.

(31,174 posts)I found it amazing the Wrecking Crew would come up with riffs and such that many bands had no clue how to play.
