live recordings (love live shows but prefer to listen to studio recordings) but that was awesome!

He didn't play the iconic lead on the studio version. That was Elliott Randall who played it.
Skunk is good, but he's no Elliott Randall.
Walter Becker, the guy who plays that clever guitar piece before the two leads (Baxter plays the harmony part) is a wonderful guitar player. But, his ego was so in check that he thought nothing of having someone else play the leads.
I saw these guys on the one tour they did until MANY years later. Decades actually.
Small college about 40 miles north of our house. I want to say 1974.
They were superb! Redbone was the opening act!
That was a good show. Musicianship just flowing off the stage.
