I'm feeling U2 today

I’ve been listening while cleaning the house. Between the vacuum and my loud and horrible singing, the cats are not pleased.

A few favorites:

My list could go on for a mile, but these are the ones I enjoyed the most today.

Here’s Pooper, on the bed, terribly unimpressed with the whole affair.

And Like a Song is my favorite song on War, ever since the first time I heard the album in like 1983.

Sunday Bloody Sunday and New Years Day get all the attention but Like A Song and Drowning Man are my favorites on that one. And 40, of course.

It’s one of those albums you can listen to straight through, with no skipping.

and we were “going to find her a good home.” Part of “not getting attached” was not giving her a name.

After a couple weeks, I was worried she would think her name was Little Shit because of how many times we would laugh and say, “Oh, you little shit!” She was so mischievous and fast when she was little! And a master at stalking/sneak attacking our other cats.

We started calling Pooper because it seemed nicer and cute, like her. And it just fits her. She’s my little Poops and has 1000 other silly nicknames. It’s hard to believe she’ll be 11 this spring.

I tried to resist the cat came to my back door a few years ago. He was about half grown and was very fast at getting in the house when I opened the door. Then I named him Patches after a cat I had when I was a little girl. He’s lived in the house with me ever since. He has lots of nicknames but none I can repeat in polite company

IMHO, it’s some of their best lyrics. Perhaps even some of the best lyrics in rock.

I’m usually a purist about classics (why mess with perfection?), but I heard this for the first time about a year ago and it’s pretty damn good. It’s Mary, so of course it’s good!
