(11,802 posts)Thing is insane dude! Performance cam kicks in at 6200rpm. It's nuts! ANd the attention it garners? That thing is Beyonce when it's on the street. Starting to understand what's it's like to have paparazzi. Constantly people taking pics. Parked & driving.
I'm guessing since the name change this is my Cali brudda from anudda mudda?

Make sure you don't hit anything, otherwise your car is totaled

(11,802 posts)Personal loan so not even a lien. That pretty girl is all mine! And I got collectable car insurance so it's set for a specific amount. Enough to replace. Don't mean I'm taking crazy chances but. It's good. This thing is going to reset my hobbies. A car can be a pain, but probably less than a bandmate....LOL!
And Huge (Hugh) Lebowski rocks!

(7,715 posts)I absolutely LOVE the smile on Lotus, and yes, I didn't think it was possible to have something minier than a Mini.
Great choices, bro. You're a lucky dad!

(11,802 posts)I absolutely adore the Mini. Sincerely. Love her, love her, love her. Fantastic fun little car. But, with a debilitating illness in my family, made me realize that this isn't a dress rehearsal. If I want something that at least resembles what was on my bedroom walls when I was 12....ain't no waiting, dig? Best decision I ever made. Yeah, I get the dick jokes. Proabably true, I'm hung like a stud field mouse! LOL! But seriously, I've owned nothing but stick shifts since about 92. I love to drive. It's not about showing off. This is one of the greatest "driver" cars ever built. By every automotive magazine, show, authority, etc. That's why I bought it. The driving experience is like the Mini + The Tasmanian Devil + Crack. It's insane. Not to mention just a pure work of art visually, imho.

(7,715 posts)If I want to fit into that Lotus, I guess I need to shed a bit of the pandemic weight I've added!

(11,802 posts)Yeah, it took a number of times getting in and out to get it down to a science and not look like a jackass. Much easier without the top for sure. LOL! That's Mrs. Glam's biggest bitch. Not the volume of the engine, not the racing seats, not the tight quarters, not the racing suspension/rough ride...."I look like an asshole getting out of it!" Keep telling her it just takes practice. LOL! She is enjoying it though.

I am so glad to get these insights. I always imagined a car like a Lotus was far beyond my means, but I recall when you were in the market, you said it was essentially a Toyota. If we get another parking space (and I shed that XS weight), it might be something to consider.
Love your comments on the Mini....Mrs. Merryholidays would dearly love one. Perhaps that's something we will put on our radar screen.
Enjoy your wheels!

(11,802 posts)The Mini is fantastic. Most fun car I've ever had. No doubt. Not the fastest. Most fun. Six speed turbo with a forced cold air intake. I've taken the cloverleaf by me at 70-75. Could probably do more, but I was so shoved against the door, I was afraid to give it anymore. LOL! Just a fun fun car. Every corner and curvy road is an adventure. I'd suggest a second generation. Third gen they stretched and widened. You want the smaller version.
As far as the Lotus? Prices are going up at the moment. But so worth it. As I said, the performance is through the roof. The sound, the looks of it. It really is a supercar. An affordable one. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk about it. Hell, I'd help you find one.
