Satie never received the recognition he deserved during his lifetime and was "just getting by" in his career.
At one point he received an inheritance - an unusual abundance of some 'cash' to allow himself to buy something that he might need.
He proceeded to buy 9 suits identical to the one that he always wore - his favorite. That way he would ALWAYS have his 'favorite' suit!
