By then McGuinn was one of the best, and most underrated, guitarists in his own right. And also the last original Byrd.
And his jams with the great Clarence White were flat out transcendental. Chris Hillman once said of White that he never heard him hit a wrong note.

These two were maybe the best guitar duo live or in studio of anyone in rock during their much too short time playing together. A damn sight better than Garcia and Weir, that's for sure.

I just loved these guys. And every lineup as well.
