First, he's playing a Zemaitus 12 string. Those were 100% handmade by a single craftsman. Sounds superb and by how he's playing it, I'd say very easy to play.
Also, early on I noticed he was playing with his thumb on the right hand. That's really hard given the tight string spacing on a 12 string.
But, when he wanted to restart and played while singing, he used a pick. Tells me he decided to get serious!
Lastly, this video is why Stevie Ray used a 12 string on his famed Unplugged appearance. He was a Jimi nut!
