As if that was - first of all - an insult or - second of all - made a lick of sense



And just to be Clear, NO SHIT SHE SOUNDS LIKE JOAN. WTF. She grew up listening to her. Jesus wept.

fully formed like Athena, no previous influence whatsoever. This is obviously Your friend must not know much about music. I guess he doesn't even realize how much influence music from the past influences music from the present.
If it didn't there'd be precious little music to listen to.
