Related: About this forumHave you met blues guitarist/singer Chris Thomas King yet?
He made a good 1st impression on me awhile ago, but then he kind of fell off my radar until recently.
In the spirit of full disclosure - I only started listening again because of the title of this album
"It's a Cold Ass World" is as good a title as any Blues Album has ever had
He ain't scared to tackle the classics either. In fact you've seen him portray the delta blues player who had sold his soul to the devil in O Brother Where Art Thou
He can sing and he can write a little too. This Blues Gospel piece impresses the hell outta me.
This one is also from "Angola" and combines found sounds and Tv/Radio clips with a slow blues crawl
This turned out to be a long thread. Turns out he's been a busy man and puts out kick ass music

(33,643 posts)1. I have not. Spinning him up now ...
Allow me to make my regular public service announcement that if one clicks thru to Youtube to play a video rather than using the window in the DU thread ... it has better sound.
It's not HUGE, but if you're using reasonably nice gear for listening and the song is well-recorded (and transferred to youtube properly), you'll hear it.
