I would love to have been a fly on the wall during the discussions to bring Tammy Wynette into the song. I’d also love to hear the pitch made to her and her reaction.

The first such combo of artists from different generations which I remember is that terrific duet with Aretha Franklin and George Michael. There are probably others from earlier but that’s the first major one I remember.

There have been some others in the past few years:

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett
Madonna & Swae Lee
Dua Lipa & Elton John

Maybe we will see more of these in the future.
