1983 I believe it was, at a outdoor fest in Chicago.. (Technically we opened for the band that opened for them. We did 40 minutes, the opener an hour, then CT played.)
They were all wonderful, supportive guys. Pleasant, talkative, down to earth.
One fun note: in the early 80s, Hamer was throwing guitars at Rick every 10 days! He showed up with his guitar tech and a security cop (armed) with 8 of these roller cases that looked like a auto mechanics toolbox.
In each, there were 8 padded drawers that pulled out with a guitar in each.
He brought 64 guitars to that gig.
His tech was busy!
