Who knew Larry would become a fan of the Grateful Dead? Or that he bullied Mickey Hart on a one-on-one play around? Fascinating link on the 1986 Celtics....it appears everyone on the team with the exception of Danny Ainge (LOL, he's a Mormon) went to see the Dead in Worcester, Ma back in Fall, 86. Arguably, Bill Walton is the #1 Deadhead...but the "family" thing apparently stuck. And they won the title....

(11,026 posts)I also love whenever there's is video or broadcast of a Dead (or Dead-related) show, they always find him in the audience.

(3,396 posts)When Drums was going, Walton was up there banging on various percussion instruments. It didnt look like he knew what he was doing, but still I thought that was pretty cool.

(24,504 posts)Btw, Celtics had a helluva game tonight. Seeing Tatum/Brown/Smart on the same page, especially in OT, was a taste of things to come!
