(49,004 posts)shouldn't miss out on Paul Rodgers. Free broke up a few years after they recorded this song, and their brilliant lead guitarist, Paul Kossoff, was gone, tragically young, a couple of years later.
But Rodgers is still around, and I can't think of any rock singer whose voice has held up better for more than 50 years. The videos below are Free live in 1970, and Rodgers in 2015, age 66.

FWIW, I agree with the people commenting on those videos who consider Rodgers the greatest rock singer ever.

Paul Rodgers is amazing. The Doors wanted him to become their frontman after Jim Morrison's death. Deep Purple wanted him as their lead singer after Ian Gillan left. I'm glad he formed Bad Company, love a lot of their records, but this song he recorded with Free has always been my favorite.
And I love this performance with Queen.
