1. Covered That Song!

Started out when we did a 3 piece, with me on bass.
Later, we incorporated it at jam nights when all 4 of us were there, with me on guitar.
I love Tom, so I have to admit I phrase the words very differently then him.
I think it's easy to get trapped trying to sing like him, and I think one should sing the way THEY sing.
Changing the phrasing helped me not sound like I was mimicking Tom.
His style is so unique, it should be all his.

2. Best concert experience I ever had

was when I took my kiddo out of school to fly down to Red Rocks and see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on their 40th anniversary tour. Tom was dead only 4 months later. Looking back, I remember beating myself up a little bit about my son missing school, the $$ it cost to do the trip...all of that. I'm so glad we did it.

3. I still miss him...

I went to the last show at the Hollywood Bowl. I remember my two besties and I were pissed off because the Friday show was sold out, and we had to go to the Monday show. Worth it, as it had been every time we went since we were 16.
