(9,223 posts)1. Great song. Weird lyrics.
Alligator lizards in the air(?)
What the hell does that mean?
I think I got the info from an old radio interview. The line was about the clouds in the sky while on the Ventura Highway.
Couldn't help but start singing it in '79 when I moved to California and saw my first Vta Hwy sign. Corny but true.

Was playing with a coffee house trio. I didn't play guitar back then, but I had a beat up old 12 string tuned to an open chord. So, I could contribute more than vocally. Unless of course there was a piano where were playing. Then, I'd play what I really know!
We did this, Sandman, & Horse With No Name.
Those were fun gigs. Didn't make much money, but no gear to move, little rooms, intimate crowds.
Did it a couple years. Was a hoot.
