(11,787 posts)Was in a blues rock band awhile back. We did a lot of obscure stuff. B side Humble Pie and Free tunes with Muddy and Howling Wolf in between. Loved it. Anyway we we're opening for a progressive classis rock band one night and, knowing they were going to play some pretty off the wall stuff, we closed with Zeppelin's Kashmir. Few bands have the balls to attempt that, so the gauntlet was thrown down. Ya know, "top that shit boys".
They opened with "One Of These Days". Damn! We were all

That same band used to do Floyd's "Echoes" in its entirety too! The middle part with the fake whale songs would clear a bar in no time flat.
The singer told me people would walk up and say, "Dude! Are you guys doing Echoes Tonite?!?!?"
Others would walk up and say, "Dude are you guys doing Echoes Tonite?"
