2. Funny Stanley Clarke Story

Back during Return To Forever days, Stanley got Alembic to make him a 6 string piccolo bass.
Next rehearsal for the upcoming album, he comes in with it all excited, showing the guys. (It was a PRETTY instrument.)
He takes it over to Chick, and without even looking up, drily says "Stanley, it's a guitar."
Story says everyone else in the room was on the floor, laughing.
Chick didn't confirm the story. He also never denied it, but Lenny White swore by the story.
Since RTF never recorded or performed without both Chick & Stanley, I'm guessing that messing with each other was just what they did.

3. I always had the impression that Chick was full of himself

4. He & Stanley Were Good Friends

Didn't matter what he was doing, if Chick reassembled RTF, Stanley was on board.
He's the one & only bass player in RTF.
That's why i think he was teasing a friend.
