Golden Earring - Quiet Eyes (live, 1986, at a concert on the beach for 185,000 fans)

This was the single from Golden Earring's 18th album, The Hole, and in the Netherlands they did a free promo concert on the beach at Scheveningen. The single made it only to #31 on Billboard's rock chart in the States, but was a Top 10 hit in the Netherlands.

They recently broke up because one of the members was diagnosed with ALS - they'd played a show shortly before COVID that turned out to be their last. Sad, they were a great band who were much more than their two or three US hits.

was diagnosed with ALS a little over a year ago, with the news of the diagnosis coming out a year ago this month. He was one of the founders of the first version of the group, along with bass player Rinus Gerritsen, way back in 1961, and they somehow kept the band together for 60 years, with the final version of the lineup together since 1970.
