Warren Zevon-Excitable Boy.
Good live performance from 82. Nice guitar at the end.

(18,641 posts)but you had me with live.
He was one of those who couldn't hang in there long enough for me to see him. Unfortunately, his bucket ran out before mine did.
That was quite a set list on the piano. It amazes me that musicians can remember every word, every chord, and every nuance, but have to pin up a list of their songs. haha
That starts my day on a pleasant note. Thanx for posting.

(422 posts)I wore out my vinyl of this album. There is a video of Werewolves from this show on YouTube. I imagine someone will bring it out sometime. Good stuff.
I know what you mean about all of the notes they have to remember and reproduce while keeping time. That's why they are them and I am not, no matter how much I would like to have the ability.
Keep an ear out. I may surprise you again. Check my journal to see what kind of tunes I gravitate to. Thanks again.

(18,641 posts)I've suggested to people who post good music in The Lounge that they should turn the MA group on to it. One guy told me he did, but didn't get a response, and that's happened to me as well. I know not everyone shares the same taste in tunes, but recently I posted a link to Radio Garden to hear stations all over the world. That fell flat. Then I wrote and posted an article about Black Sabbath's 1st album cover. I got a smattering on that.
I explained that the cats in Music Appreciation were indeed appreciative, but not especially enthusiastic. Like the beatniks in '60s coffee shops they snap their fingers after a stellar performance because clapping is for squares. LOL
But now I know how the band who opened for Led Zeppelin felt. Whoever that was.
Here's that link to Radio Garden in case you missed it. I'm only reposting it because of how incredible it really is.

This is pre-tuned to "Handcrafted Radio", an internet station out of Lansing. No DJs and no commercials. Just deep vinyl album cuts 24/7.

And welcome to DU. The place will warm to you. Hang in there.

(903 posts)I've started posting here more, because I love talking about the music I love. I try to post more than just the link.
I have a bootleg Zevon live set Headless in Boston. I think the YouTube video is from the same tour, but in NJ rather than Boston. The whole NJ show is on YT, and if I remember, he mentions they were in Boston the previous night.
A very worthy live set to go along with Stand In The Fire.
Keep posting. Some of us will clap.

(65,191 posts)Every song was excellent. From opening with "Johnny Strikes Up The Band" to closing with "Lawyers Guns & Money" it's just superb song after superb song.
Warren & Waddy produced the album themselves.
