(9,739 posts)I'll never forget the first time I heard it. I was 14, waiting at the Trailways bus station for the bus to Atlanta to visit cousins, and someone played this song on the jukebox. I have loved it ever since but hadn't heard it in years.

Of course, a lot of them were taught in Sunday school that the Earth is only about 6,000 years old, so any fossils found anywhere can't be any older than that. It's almost criminal the way they brainwash children like that. What's scary is that some kids are taught that shit in the schools. It's "Intelligent Design." Those teachers think they're teaching both sides of the argument. Really, there aren't two sides. There's reality and then there's bullshit. But I guess I've talked enough about the origins of our planet in a thread about Alley Oop.
