Year of the Cat

I was driving along today and I heard a bit of this song coming from… somewhere. I haven’t heard it in awhile and forgot what an intricately crafted masterpiece it is. I also find it comforting in a way I can’t explain.

I came home and listened to it on YouTube, looking at some of the comments and 1 caught my eye -

“mom used to come in and turn down the stereo. I was playing this one day and she sat down and listened. her eyes were closed and her head was swaying. when it ended she shook her head, said ‘wow’ and went to finish dinner. Miss ya mom.”

Wow is right.

Between finishing college & getting married, I still lived at home.
I play that on the piano & sing it. My dad found it a charming song.
It paints a picture.
Later on, I played this in one of my bands. I actually bought my first reverb unit to get that distant sound on the vocal.
Always dug it.
