'Hold Your Head Up' *Argent-1972 (50 yrs old this summer)

"And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing...
"

"Hold Your Head Up" is a song by the English rock band Argent, released as a single in 1972. The song was a Top 5 hit in both the US and UK, peaking at No. 5 in both countries. Billboard ranked it as the No. 50 song for 1972. The song appeared on the third Argent album All Together Now (1972).

This was the only US Top 40 hit for Argent, who were named for their keyboard player Rod Argent, previously a member of The Zombies. This song was written by Chris White, who was The Zombies' bass player.

Argent performed the song on the British TV show Top Of The Pops, and attracted a much wider audience as a result.

Rod is a very underrated keyboardist.
Here's a song from a follow up album that I always liked.

Remembering Ray Manzarek, Keyboardist For The Doors The mythology surrounding The Doors generally centers on its lead singer, Jim Morrison. Morrison is still considered one of rock's tortured poets, but The Doors' sound was based largely on Ray Manzarek's keyboard playing.
As in "Riders on the Storm, unforgettable keyboard intro.

Raymond Daniel Manzarek Jr. (born Manczarek; February 12, 1939 – May 20, 2013) was an American keyboardist and singer, best known as a member of the Doors from 1965 to 1973, which he co-founded with singer and lyricist Jim Morrison.
