Related: About this forumJerry Jeff Walker - Mr. Bojangles ( for JJ's B-day -live)
He is the composer of this song that's been a classic cover for a few bands. Written in jail. If you watch on YT the lyrics are on screen.

(12,904 posts)3. I went to see Jerry Jeff once.
He tried to kidnap the girl who drove us to the show, in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico. My house was about 1000 miles away.
I was a little scared, but she managed to talk her way off his bus, after about an hour. It was a great show.

(421 posts)4. I saw him on this tour (1976)
He appeared to be drunk (hammered) and had to be helped on stage. I think it was his normal state because the show wasn't bad. The (horrible) acoustics of the venue probably helped. It was fun though.
