Damn, we all know Billy Strings can pick a mean guitar, but "Turmoil and Tinfoil" live...

I follow Billy ever since he was sitting on a couch picking out "Dust in a Baggie", now he is nominated for a Grammy for his latest album and is destined to become a legend in Bluegrass and crossover. Somehow I missed this performance all these years...

Damn. Freaking Legend Material...

From couch to Legend...

So damn happy for him and I am just excited for his future and music. This will be an epic ride.

Billy is really such a nice and humble dude. He loves his family and his step dad and him have a super special relationship, they did an entire concert together. His step dad had to sell his rare Martin guitar during some hard times and Billy somehow managed to buy it back years later. They played on stage together and you can just see the loving bond they have.

9. I think we were all focused more on the pandemic last year, too, than on the Grammys.

This year, besides the best bluegrass album Grammy nomination, he's also up for a Grammy for Best American Roots Performance, but he has some strong competition there:

13. I've been alternating lately between reading news and tweets about news (and sharing a lot of those

here on DU) and switching over to YouTube for breaks, just going from page to page there quickly to see what music shows up that appeals to me and helps me detox after so much horrible news. Just running across music that way seems to help distract me more than listening to a radio station or playlist or an album. Especially with older music videos for imaginary time travel back to less stressful times.
