1. I loved Styx, until I was treated to a 45-minute Pieces of Shit tour show! No joke.

That was after they cancelled the first date where Thin Lizzy was going to open. They tacked our Washington State U show on the end of the tour and came back with the almost unknown April Wine. Not bad, but you know how it is with warmup bands. It was gonna be a couple years before those guys were big. So, I missed my only chance to see Thin Lizzy too because of those guys. 44 years later and I'm still not over it! LOL

I had a similar experience with Blue Oyster Cult, I was crazy about 'em but only had a chance to go to one of their concerts. Kansas was the headliner act, andI've forgotten the opening act; Blue Oyster Cult was in between them--but they didn't show! And no explanation was ever given for why. Fortunately, Kansas was worth the price of the ticket!

Saw Styx twice. First show in 1977 was excellent! Second one, early 80s after Dennis DeYoung had left, was only passable.

slow version of The Grand Illusion they did. Maybe my favorite song of theirs at the time. No encore either. The went off and we thought it might be more like a half-time break. I'd seen it before. They come back out for a long encore, then maybe even another. Then the house lights came on and we were looking at each other like WTF?

I wonder if you could do a search and find out why the Oyster Boys didn't show? Coulda been the promoter's fault or something. Those guys are usually real troopers. But then again, if it was back in the 70's, maybe not so much.
