1. Carole Kaye "stumbled" into electric bass history

By the early 60s' she was already an established studio session guitarist. At one particular session, the bassist who had been scheduled was a no-show, and Kaye was pressed into duty. The results of that session and others that followed established her reputation as L.A.'s go-to session bassist. As such, she was the sole female musician comprising the legendary "Wrecking Crew", which also included up-and-comers Glen Campbell and Leon Russell.

2. She ended up in Colorado Springs as a Dental Assistant

When the "session" work ended she moved on without fanfare. She did, however, write 3 definitive books on Bass that continue to influence the world of music to this day.
