Originally recorded and written by Fred Neal. Here is a recent version that is pretty darn good as well.

Its one of those songs that get stuck somewhere permanently in the back of your mind and comes out from time to time. These last few weeks its been playing constantly in my head so I finally had to look it up and found that Ronstadt version. This one is terrific. I love the arrangement and the full orchestration. Such a beautiful tune, beautiful sound quality
